Catalogue Design: Hideaway
Wari Watai Studio
Wari Watai believes that good design understands the context and objective of communication, making content accessible, engaging and meaningful. I worked under the mentorship of Ram Sinam for Project Nilaya, wallcoverings by Asian Paints Services.
Hideaway took inspiration from the fresco painting process, especially from the sgraffiato stage. In this technique, a rough plaster undercoat is applied, followed by thin layers of plaster, each tinted with different lime-fast colors. The book’s palette was governed by a tranquil green earth shade, embodying nature’s soothing, restorative effect on the reader.
