Assembly Line

14 panel Textile Installation

The textile corridor conveys the durational vitality and evocative aesthetic of abandonment and regeneration, reflecting a fertile landscape through color, slip, sand and pigment.

Assembly Line is a reconciliation with the termination of industrial factory lands. Upon close observation, the minute details reveal light invocations.

The work itself is an anthology of suspended elements that cites my memory of factory spaces, to which I  refer to as a place of protection and play. These elements come together to create a passage within the gallery space with its own laws.

While passing through from either side, an action is staged. What we see is a crisis of perception: we become and contribute to becoming both us and those around us, others, the ghosts, or, in any case, suspect figures with revealed, vulnerable traits.
