Wari Watai Studio
Wari Watai believes that good design understands the context and objective of communication, making content accessible, engaging and meaningful. I worked under the mentorship of Ram Sinam for Project Nilaya, wallcoverings by Asian Paints Services.
The catalogue design was inspired by the concept of a glimpse—whether of a solitary bird or large flocks gathering in the sky. It revealed glimpses of wallpapers that adapted the aesthetics of screen-printed matchbox art, culminating in the solid color, textured graphic styling of the wallpaper itself.
The colorways drew inspiration from the transitions of the day, cycling from sunrise to twilight, and were featured sequentially in the catalogue, each revealing a hint of the time to come.
